Hello hello. Please don't expect *thrilling* personal revelations here: this is strictly a list of forthcoming synopses.

For newbies, I've been writing on commercial property, retail, planning and regional regeneration since 1988. Current clients include Estates Gazette, the Manchester Evening News, North West Business Insider, Farmers Weekly, ShD Magazine (www.pressonshd.com), Midlands Business Insider, Yorkshire Business Insider and, by no means least, South West Business Insider.

PLEASE NOTE I do not write on residential property for the consumer market (ever) so it would be a waste of time to send me your lovely press releases explaining how charming young heterosexual couples can buy the house of their dreams etc. etc. Accompanying photos of people standing around holding glasses of white wine in underfurnished boxes meant to resememble Manhattan lofts, but in fact resembling small underfurnished boxes, may also safely be omitted.

Polite note to public relations persons:

It's always a good idea to know and understand the requirements of the publication. Reading it regularly is best - second best is checking out their online archive for relevant stories before getting in touch.

Before responding to a synopsis on behalf of a client please have a clear idea - genuinely clear, please - of what exactly your client can offer that I couldn't get from someone else, or from my cat. Announcing that they are a top 20 law firm or chartered surveyors or God almighty himself is not *ever* a reason to be interested in what someone says.

GL Hearn, single payment via their PR agency, for writing.
In the 12 months to April 2012:
TFT Surveyors, single payment, for speaking.
Liverpool Vision, single payment for writing.
By my calculation that's less than 5 per cent of my gross income.
