Another Boring Work Blog

A rolling list of work on the desk of David Thame, freelance writer on commercial property, retail, regeneration and regional economics. The hope is that PR people find it useful.

If Google brought you here and you are now horribly disappointed and unhappily baffled because you were looking for someone a lot more literary and, well, not like this, then you should probably head here instead.

Please note: I do not have any Twitter or Facebook or LinkedIn accounts - so any you stumble into are (scarcely believable, I know) from some other doppleganger David Thame, not me. There's also a site - and the s is quite important, and it's nothing to do with me.

Estates Gazette - West Midlands enterprise zones, 5 November 2011

Should the West Midlands be dancing with joy? The recently-announced Birmingham and Black Country Enterprise Zones - big opportunity or big confusion? Thoughts, comments and relevant contacts by 10th October.

Estates Gazette - Retail Supplement - November 2011

Three features, comments/contacts from those with a real knowledge of these areas most welcome:

Private equity: Are private equity firms buying the property or the business, or buying the business despite the property?

Plus size: With the outsize clothes market predicted to be worth £8bn by 2016, will there be a rush to open shops in the sector? (Emmerdale lovely Lisa Riley opens a new plus-size store in Liverpool, above).

Jewellery: How is the sector holding up in the current economic climate?

Deadline for comments/contacts is Thursday 29th September 2011.
